In a subsequent development, Babar Azam has been summoned for a meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, to address Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the 2023 World Cup and deliberate on Babar’s future as captain. While initial reports suggested Babar might voluntarily step down from the white-ball captaincy, there are now speculations that he might be asked to resign from leadership across all formats.
It seems that Babar Azam will have to resign from captaincy otherwise he would be sacked by PCB. He has an important meeting today with Chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf. Shan Masood likely to be appointed captain for Test & ODI. Shaheen Shah Afridi likely to be appointed captain for T20.

Shan Masood is reportedly under consideration for the ODI and Test captaincy, with Shaheen Shah Afridi emerging as a potential T20 skipper. The meeting, to be attended by Pakistan’s head coach Grant Bradburn and team manager Rehan-ul-Haq, will play a crucial role in determining the team’s direction.
