The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet made a decision regarding the Indian cricket team’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, as stated by Secretary Jay Shah.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) awarded Pakistan hosting rights for the 2025 Champions Trophy, a significant event on the country’s cricket calendar. The tournament will feature eight teams, with qualifications based on performances in the 2023 ODI World Cup, which is being held in India.
India has been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B consists of Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan.

When asked about the possibility of India competing in Pakistan, Shah remarked, “No stand as of now. We will cross that bridge when we come to it,” according to the Times of India.
India last toured Pakistan during the 2008 Asia Cup, and Pakistan’s most recent visit to India was for a bilateral series in 2012-13. Since then, the two cricketing giants have avoided bilateral series due to strained relations.
The 2025 edition will mark the ninth installment of the Champions Trophy, with the last tournament held in 2017, where Pakistan secured their first title by defeating India in the final.
