[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stated unequivocally that he made no request for a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to India.

FM Bilawal made these remarks before departing for Goa, India, on Thursday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting.

He stated that interpreting his visit to India in terms of bilateral relations between the two neighbours would be incorrect.

The SCO conference is set to take place from May 4 to 5 in the Indian tourist destination of Goa.

India invited SCO foreign ministers, including Pakistan’s, to the meeting in January. China, Russia, India, Pakistan, and some Central Asian states are members of the SCO. A few years ago, Pakistan and India were admitted as full members.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch made the formal announcement of the foreign minister’s participation in the SCO foreign ministers meeting during a weekly press briefing.

According to Bilawal, they cannot allow India to further isolate Pakistan.

According to sources on state-run radio, no request for a bilateral meeting between Pakistan’s and India’s foreign ministers has been made on this occasion.

It is worth noting that Bilawal is visiting India for the first time as Pakistan’s foreign minister in 12 years.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
