WhatsApp is set to make recording voice messages more convenient with the introduction of a new single-tap feature in its latest iOS beta update. Available for users who have installed version 25.13.10.70 of WhatsApp beta for iOS via the TestFlight app, the update allows users to record voice messages with just one tap, eliminating the need to hold or swipe the microphone button.
Previously, WhatsApp offered two options for recording voice notes: pressing and holding the microphone button for quick messages or swiping up to lock the recording for longer notes. The new update merges these two methods, automatically activating the recording lock as soon as the microphone button is tapped.

This streamlined approach aims to make the voice message recording process faster, more intuitive, and reduce the number of steps needed to send a message. While it may take some time for users familiar with the old method to adjust, the change is expected to become second nature after a few uses.
Currently, the feature is available only to a select group of beta testers, but it is expected to be rolled out to a broader audience in the coming weeks. WhatsApp has not yet announced when the update will be available to all users, but this move underscores the platform’s ongoing efforts to simplify communication for its global user base.
