The PDMA has also directed agencies such as WASA, Punjab Police, and Civil Defense to remain vigilant and prepare for any emergencies. DG PDMA has urged citizens to stay indoors and avoid open areas during thunderstorms to protect themselves from lightning. Additionally, the public has been advised to contact the PDMA emergency helpline 1129 in case of any incidents.

Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), intermittent rain with thunderstorms is expected to start Thursday and continue until May 4. The PDMA KP has issued alerts for several districts, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, and Buner. The weather system is also forecast to affect tribal districts like Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, and central KP areas such as Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, and Kohat.

The PDMA has communicated with local administrations in affected areas, urging them to remain alert and ensure that emergency response mechanisms are ready.
