To ease tensions in Kurram, warring tribes agreed to a ceasefire on Sunday, following escalating violence that claimed 18 lives in recent clashes.
The provincial government announced the formation of a high-powered commission to resolve land disputes in the area. Violence peaked after a Thursday attack in Bagan town, where a convoy of around 200 vehicles faced heavy gunfire, resulting in at least 64 fatalities.

KP Chief Minister’s adviser, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, confirmed the seven-day ceasefire, with both tribes pledging to return bodies and prisoners. Positive discussions were held with Shia and Sunni tribal leaders during meetings with the government delegation.
