Numerous victims have reported having their personal information compromised after opening such links, which appeared to be harmless wedding invitations. Hackers can track the victim’s activities, steal private information, and even send fraudulent messages to the victim’s contacts, asking for money or sensitive details.
In some cases, scammers have impersonated victims to solicit money from their friends and family. Authorities are advising users to keep their devices updated with the latest security patches and to install reliable antivirus software to protect against these growing cyber threats.
