A luxury restaurant owned by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli is facing legal trouble once again, as police have registered an FIR for violations of public health and anti-smoking laws under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).

The FIR follows a routine inspection on May 29, during which officials discovered several breaches, including the absence of a designated smoking area and the alleged allowance of smoking in prohibited zones—both violations under COTPA.

Initially filed as a non-cognizable report (NCR), the case was upgraded to a formal FIR after court approval. The restaurant’s manager and staff have been named in the complaint, though Kohli himself is not included.

As the issue gains public attention, no official statement has yet been made by Kohli or the restaurant’s management.
