Vinod Kambli's Life at Risk Following Discovery of Brain Clots

Vinod Kambli Admitted to Hospital After Brain Clots Detected

Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, 52, has been hospitalized in Thane, Maharashtra, after his health deteriorated. On December 23, doctors revealed that medical tests had detected clots in his brain.

Kambli was admitted to Akriti Hospital in Bhiwandi on December 21 after initially complaining of a urinary infection and muscle cramps. However, further examinations revealed the presence of brain clots. Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who is overseeing his treatment, shared that Kambli’s condition is being closely monitored, and additional tests would be conducted the following day.

In a show of support, the hospital in-charge, S. Singh, announced that Kambli would receive free lifelong medical care at the facility.

Kambli, who was part of India’s 1996 World Cup-winning squad, has faced a series of health and financial difficulties since retiring from cricket. He has previously suffered two heart attacks and has been battling a number of health issues, including the urinary infection.

Earlier this year, Kambli opened up about his struggles with alcohol addiction and financial instability, expressing his gratitude for the support provided by his childhood friend and former teammate, Sachin Tendulkar. Kambli was last seen at a memorial event for his coach, Ramakant Achrekar, where he appeared frail and emotional, meeting Tendulkar once again.
