Renowned Pakistani television actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her apartment in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Thursday evening, police confirmed. She was 77.
Authorities suspect her body had been unattended for nearly a week before neighbors, noticing a foul odor, alerted her family.

Police transported her remains to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal procedures before shifting them to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth.
Dr. Summaiya Syed, the police surgeon, stated that the post-mortem examination is pending as officials await the arrival of her son.
According to police, Khan lived alone, with her children residing outside Karachi. Initial reports suggest she may have died in the bathroom.
Funeral details will be announced later.
Born in 1948, Ayesha Khan was a trailblazer in Pakistan Television (PTV) dramas, celebrated for her compelling performances in iconic productions. She was also the elder sister of the late actress Khalida Riasat.
Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council of Pakistan, expressed grief over her demise, calling it a “profound loss” for the country’s drama industry.
With a career spanning over 50 years, Khan captivated audiences with her versatile portrayals of complex female characters, leaving an indelible mark on Pakistani television.
