Users in Pakistan experience disruptions on WhatsApp and other social media apps

ISLAMABAD – Users of various social media platforms, including WhatsApp, are experiencing disruptions. While text messaging functions seem unaffected, many users are encountering issues with sending voice messages, video clips, and making audio or video calls.

Reports indicate that some users are unable to send or receive voice messages and video clips via WhatsApp. Additionally, difficulties are being reported in making audio and video calls through the app. Despite these widespread issues, authorities from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and other relevant officials have not provided an explanation or update on the situation. Local media has reported that the cause of the disruptions remains unclear.
