US secret documents in Ukraine War

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]WASHINGTON: The New York Times reported on Thursday that secret documents detailing US and NATO plans to assist Ukraine in preparing for a spring offensive against Russia had leaked onto social media platforms.

The Pentagon stated that it is investigating the reported security breach.

“We are aware of reports of social media posts, and the Department is investigating,” said Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh.

According to the Times, the documents were distributed via Twitter and Telegram and allegedly contain charts and details about weapon deliveries, battalion strengths, and other sensitive information.

According to the report, the information in the documents is at least five weeks old, with the most recent dated March 1.

According to the newspaper, one of the documents summarised the training schedules of 12 Ukraine combat brigades and stated that nine of them were being trained by US and NATO forces and required 250 tanks and more than 350 mechanised vehicles.

According to the report, the documents, at least one of which was labelled “top secret,” were distributed through pro-Russian government channels.

The documents also include expenditure rates for munitions under Ukraine’s military control, such as the HIMARS rocket systems, which are US-made artillery rocket systems that have proven highly effective against Russian forces.

According to the report, military analysts have warned that some documents appear to have been altered as part of Russia’s disinformation campaign, with one document inflating Ukrainian troop deaths while minimising Russian battlefield losses.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
