Unka kehna hai ke Taliban-led hukumat ke neechay Afghanistan mein ab bhi aise humanitarian aur economic conditions hain jo un refugees ke liye khatarnaak sabit ho sakti hain. “Aisi situations ke wajah se Afghan log America aaye thay, aur ye threats abhi bhi exist karti hain,” lawmakers ne kaha.

Ye effort Senator Chris Van Hollen, Representative Glenn Ivey, aur Senator Amy Klobuchar lead kar rahe hain. TPS (Temporary Protected Status) ek aisa programme hai jo un logon ko deportation relief deta hai jo aise mulkon se belong karte hain jahan war, natural disasters ya humanitarian crisis ho.

May mein Department of Homeland Security ne announce kiya tha ke Afghan citizens ke TPS ko end kiya ja raha hai, ye keh kar ke “Afghanistan ke halat ab theek ho gaye hain aur TPS continue rakhna national interest ke khilaaf hai.”

TPS termination 14 July se effective hogi. DHS ke data ke mutabiq, 11,700 Afghans is waqt TPS par hain jabke 3,600 ko green cards mil chuke hain.
