US Imposes Fresh Sanctions Targeting Iran’s Missile and Drone Programs

The United States has imposed sanctions on 32 entities and individuals from Iran, China, Hong Kong, the UAE, Türkiye, India, and other regions for allegedly running procurement networks that aid Iran’s ballistic missile and drone production, including for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to the US State Department, the move aligns with the UN sanctions reimposed on September 27 in response to Iran’s failure to uphold its nuclear commitments. These measures aim to address the threats from Iran’s nuclear, missile, and conventional weapons programs, as well as its destabilizing regional actions.

The US urged all UN member states to enforce their renewed obligations under Security Council resolutions 1737, 1747, 1803, and 1929, which prohibit the transfer of missile-related technology and conventional arms to Iran.

Officials said the decision follows President Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum-2, which seeks to counter Iran’s missile development and restrict the IRGC’s access to funding and resources.

Washington reaffirmed its commitment to using all available tools, including sanctions on third-country entities, to expose and block Iran’s procurement efforts that threaten regional and global stability.
