US Approves Pakistan’s Seafood Exports for Four Years

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has announced that the United States has granted Pakistan a four-year approval for seafood exports, marking a major breakthrough for the country’s fisheries sector.

Terming it a “milestone,” the minister said the approval demonstrates international recognition of Pakistan’s seafood quality and ensures continued access to one of the world’s most profitable markets.

He noted that Pakistan exported 242,000 metric tons of seafood worth $489 million last year and expressed confidence that exports could reach $600 million in the coming year with renewed US market access.

The decision is expected to boost investor confidence, strengthen Pakistan’s seafood industry, and pave the way for expansion into North American and other global markets.
