In a move aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations and facilitating travel for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, the United States has announced a substantial extension of the validity period for both tourist and business visas.

The confirmation of this development came from the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, revealing that Kyrgyz citizens will now be granted a ten-year validity period for new tourist and business visas, marking a notable increase from the previous five-year duration.

Furthermore, the U.S. Embassy communicated the elimination of the $20 reciprocal fee for B1, B2 and B1/B2 visa applications for passport holders from the Kyrgyz Republic. This decision reflects a concerted effort to enhance travel opportunities and foster stronger connections between the American and Kyrgyz people.

The U.S. government emphasized the significance of streamlining travel processes, anticipating numerous benefits for Kyrgyz travelers. The extension of visa validity and the removal of the reciprocal fee are expected to facilitate more accessible avenues for acquiring tourist and business visas to the United States for individuals from the Kyrgyz Republic.

Commencing on March 4, 2024, the new ten-year validity period applies specifically to B1, B2 and B1/B2 visas. It’s crucial to note that this change does not apply retroactively to visas issued before this date. Additionally, these modifications pertain specifically to the mentioned visa categories.
