UN Security Council Denounces Attack On Khuzdar School Bus

The United Nations Security Council on Thursday issued a strong condemnation of the brutal terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, calling it a “heinous and cowardly” act. The Council emphasized the urgent need to bring those responsible to justice.

The attack, which resulted in the tragic loss of at least six lives—including four schoolchildren—and left 53 others injured, was described as a reprehensible act of violence. Among the injured were 39 children, highlighting the horrific nature of the assault.

In a joint statement, the 15-member Council expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims, the Government of Pakistan, and the Pakistani people. The Council also extended wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.

Reiterating the global threat posed by terrorism, the Council stressed that such acts are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of motivation or context. It urged all member states to cooperate fully with Pakistan in holding the perpetrators, financiers, and sponsors of the attack accountable.

The Council reaffirmed the collective responsibility of the international community to combat terrorism in accordance with the UN Charter and other international legal frameworks, ensuring peace and security are upheld globally.
