UK Activists Demand Protests Against Israeli Actions In Gaza

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Infuriated by the tragic loss of innocent Palestinian lives in Gaza and the occupied territories due to the actions of Israeli forces supporting apartheid, several freedom-oriented groups in the UK have called for the National March for Palestine – Stop the War on Gaza at Marble Arch in London on Saturday.

The call for a nationwide demonstration in London was a collaborative effort between organizations such as the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Stop the War Coalition, Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, and other human rights groups.

During a press conference, Ceinwen Hilton, a pro-Palestinian leader, implored individuals with a strong moral compass to show their support on Saturday for the suffering Palestinians.

“Birmingham supporters of freedom, justice, and equality in Palestine have been deeply affected and appalled by the events in Gaza,” said Hilton.

As a result of ongoing airstrikes by Israeli forces supporting apartheid, over 3,500 Palestinians, predominantly children, women, and the elderly, have tragically lost their lives in besieged Gaza, with thousands more sustaining injuries.

“Regrettably, the devastating airstrikes, the blockage of essential supplies including water, electricity, food, and medical aid, as well as the forced displacement of Palestinians to the southern areas of Gaza, violate international humanitarian law. These actions have received support from the UK government and the leader of the Labour Party,” she stated while reading a joint statement from the UK-based groups.

Hilton also emphasized the shocking bombing of the al-Ahli Baptist hospital, which resulted in the loss of nearly 500 lives when Israeli forces launched an airstrike on the facility in Gaza on Tuesday night.

“The state of Israel, along with members of the UK government and opposition who have endorsed Tel Aviv, stands accused of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity that are ongoing and should be immediately condemned and halted,” the joint statement, endorsed by Fahim Kayani, Stuart Richardson, and Naeem Khan, asserted.

Condemning the collective punishment of Palestinians, the statement also underscored that politicians in the country were sending a dangerous message that crimes against Palestinians, as well as against Arabs and Muslims, were somehow acceptable.

They extended an invitation to supporters of the Palestinian cause to participate in the national demonstration in London against Israeli atrocities.

Kayani, the leader of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, expressed unwavering solidarity from the Kashmiri people to the Palestinians in a brief statement.

“Who understands the plight of Palestinians better than Kashmiris?” he questioned, recalling the solidarity demonstrations held in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for Palestine.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” Kayani asserted, highlighting how Western governments were supporting apartheid Israel against the genuine, UN-backed struggle of the Palestinians.

“The same applies to Kashmir, where Western capitals have allowed a genocidal regime in India to eliminate Kashmiris,” he regretfully stated.

“Our struggles are one and the same,” he emphasized, underscoring that from Kashmir to Palestine, occupation is a crime.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
