UAE Prohibits Pakistan's Sea Imports Of Fresh Meat Products

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]DUBAI – Due to hygiene concerns, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has instituted a temporary ban on importing fresh meat from Pakistan through sea routes. UAE authorities discovered fungal contamination on a meat shipment when it arrived in the Gulf nation.

This ban will remain in effect until October 10. It is a setback for Pakistan’s economy, as the country exports around $12 million worth of fresh meat to the UAE via sea routes each month. Most of Pakistan’s fresh meat exports go to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.

Exporters have expressed concerns that this ban will harm their businesses, as air transportation for meat exports incurs higher costs.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
