[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]As the UAE awoke on Thursday to the news of a leader’s death, prayers began to flood in. Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s brother and a representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, died after suffering from a health ailment.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, was among the first to post a prayer with a black-and-white portrait of Sheikh Saeed.

Dr Anwar Gargash, the UAE President’s diplomatic adviser, paid homage to Sheikh Saeed, describing him as a man “who devoted his life to serving his country and its leadership.”

“Sincere condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and to the honorable Al Nahyan family, on the death of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed, who devoted his life to serving his country and its leadership.”

The Arabic hashtag for ‘Saeed bin Zayed’ and other similar phrases like as ‘Abu Dhabi ruler’ (as he was the emirate’s representative) were trending on X this morning, with hundreds of tweets flooding in.
Hassan Sajwani, an influencer in the UAE with over 200,000 followers, conveyed his condolences:
Heartfelt condolences to the President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the respectful Al Nahyan family, and the the entire UAE on the sad demise of late HH Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Saeed, who was born in Al Ain in 1965, was appointed as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi’s Representative in June 2010 and has held a variety of posts in the administration. He had also worked in the office of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Founding Father.
