The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched a new initiative granting automatic recognition to degrees issued by 34 UAE-based universities nationwide.
The ministry said the program represents the first phase of a broader national system aimed at simplifying and accelerating qualification recognition for graduates.
Under the new mechanism, students graduating from participating institutions receive immediate official degree recognition without submitting extra documents or facing lengthy verification procedures.
Officials explained that the initiative aligns with the UAE government’s goals of reducing bureaucracy, expanding digital services, and improving efficiency within higher education systems.
Since the system was introduced, more than 25,000 graduates have already benefited, highlighting strong demand for faster and more accessible recognition services.
The ministry confirmed future expansion will include Emirati students studying abroad on government-supervised scholarships, offering them the same streamlined process.
MoHESR stated that automatic recognition helps graduates meet employment, residency, and visa requirements while supporting quicker access to postgraduate education opportunities.
Acting Assistant Undersecretary Ahmad Yousuf Al Nasser said the initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to flexible, digitally driven services matching labor market needs.
The system uses secure digital verification technology based on QR codes, allowing employers and government entities to instantly confirm academic qualifications.
Previously, graduates were required to submit physical documents and wait for manual approvals, often causing significant delays in recognition procedures.
Authorities said the new paperless platform removes these barriers and represents a major step toward a fully digital higher education ecosystem.
The initiative is part of the UAE’s wider digital transformation strategy, supporting its vision of an efficient, technology-driven government administration.
