The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has clarified that no visa ban has been imposed on Pakistani citizens. Officials called recent reports about restrictions false and misleading.
The UAE ambassador stated that all Pakistani nationals continue to receive visas through normal channels. The clarification comes after rumors circulated suggesting new entry limitations for Pakistanis.
Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, Shafqat Ali Khan, also rejected the claims. He confirmed that no changes have been made to visa policies, and Pakistani citizens can continue to travel freely. Officials noted that the confusion may have resulted from old records presented in a committee briefing, which were misinterpreted.
The Foreign Office emphasized that the UAE has not enacted any new laws affecting visa issuance for Pakistani nationals. Bilateral relations and travel procedures remain unchanged.
In fact, the UAE recently introduced significant visa facilitation measures for Pakistani travelers. These include online visa applications and e-visas that do not require passport stamping. The UAE reportedly processes nearly 500 visa applications daily from Pakistani citizens.
These measures were highlighted during a meeting between UAE Ambassador Salem M Salem AlBawab Al Zaabi and Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division on Thursday. Officials described the reforms as a step to simplify travel and enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The UAE’s clarification ensures that Pakistani citizens can continue traveling without interruptions or restrictions. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strong bilateral relations and smooth travel procedures.
