The United Arab Emirates has officially activated visa-free entry for Pakistani diplomatic and official passport holders.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the development on social media platform X, stating that the decision followed a meeting held on June 24, 2025, in Abu Dhabi with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the meeting, both countries agreed to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

A memorandum of understanding was signed to formalize the agreement, with implementation scheduled 30 days after the signing date.

Dar confirmed that the visa exemption for Pakistani diplomatic and official passport holders became effective on July 25, 2025. The exemption applies to all qualifying passports entering the UAE.

He also mentioned that Pakistani authorities will reciprocate by extending visa-free entry to UAE diplomatic and official passport holders at all airports across Pakistan.
