On February 19, 2024, Ameer Balaj Tipu, son of Tipu Truckanwala, was fatally shot at a wedding on Lahore Multan Road. Two others were injured, and Tipu’s gunman retaliated, killing the attacker, Muzaffar Hussain.
The shooting occurred as Tipu was leaving the event, surrounded by guests taking selfies.
Investigations also exposed key details in the murder of Javed Butt, Teefi Butt’s brother-in-law and a central figure in Tipu’s murder case.
DIG Organised Crime Imran Kishwar revealed that detained shooters Azhar and Ilyas confessed to killing Javed Butt on orders from Ameer Masab, Tipu Truckanwala’s son.
They admitted the murder was a contract killing, offered Rs500,000 and two luxury houses. Their connection to Masab was facilitated by Arif, Masab’s former employee from Pattoki, who remains at large.
Police confirmed that Masab fled Pakistan six days before Javed Butt’s murder but continued coordinating with the shooters during the crime.
