Islamabad Administration Seals Two Shopping Malls in D-17 Over Labor Law Violations
The Islamabad district administration sealed two shopping malls in Sector D-17 on Sunday for violating labor laws and failing to pay employees the mandated minimum wage of Rs. 37,000 per month.
A spokesperson for the administration revealed that workers at these malls were forced to work 12 to 14 hours daily but were only paid between Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 20,000 per month — significantly below the legal minimum.

Moreover, employees were reportedly denied their monthly leave entitlements, with any absence treated as unpaid leave.
The action was taken under the directions of Assistant Commissioner Islamabad, Yasir Nazir.
It’s important to note that the federal government had previously instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad to strictly enforce labor laws across the capital.
