Two senior judges of Iran’s Supreme Court were shot dead outside the tribunal building in Tehran.
State media reported that the attacker, identified as a gunman, killed himself after carrying out the assassination.
The victims were Hojjat al-Islam Razini and Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Moqisseh, both known for their roles in tackling national security crimes, espionage, and terrorism. The judiciary described them as “brave and experienced.”
Initial investigations revealed that the assailant had no previous ties to the Supreme Court or its visitors.
A bodyguard was also injured in the attack, according to the Tehran Times.
Authorities have launched an investigation to identify any individuals linked to the incident.
