KABUL – Two explosions rocked the Afghan capital, Kabul, late Thursday night, sending panic among residents. However, officials confirmed that there were no casualties or major damage from the incidents.
According to initial details, the first blast occurred near Abdul Haq Square, an area known for government offices and heavy security presence. Moments later, another explosion was reported in the Shar-e-Naw district, a busy part of the city. Both blasts were loud enough to be heard across multiple neighborhoods.
Authorities quickly sealed off the affected zones and launched an investigation. Security teams are still trying to determine the cause of the explosions and whether any group was involved. So far, no organization has claimed responsibility.
Residents described scenes of confusion as sirens echoed and security forces arrived at the sites. “People came out of their homes thinking it was another attack,” said one local witness. Officials later urged citizens to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information online.
The blasts come at a time when Kabul has seen relative calm compared to previous years. However, incidents like this continue to raise concerns about security in the capital, especially as the government tightens surveillance in sensitive areas.
No damage to property or loss of life has been reported, and normal activities in the city have resumed.
