Turkiye’s First Lady Offers Support To Pakistan Flood Victims

Turkiye’s First Lady, Emine Erdoğan, has shown strong support for Pakistan flood victims. She urged the global community to provide urgent aid to those affected.

In a message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Turkiye’s First Lady recalled her visit to Pakistan during the 2010 floods. She witnessed the hardships faced by families who lost their homes and belongings.

“Turkey was among the first countries to help Pakistan then. Today, our prayers, hearts, and support remain with the Pakistani people,” she said.

Turkiye’s First Lady highlighted that the Turkish Red Crescent is actively monitoring the current flood crisis in Pakistan. The organization is preparing relief materials such as food, clean water, shelter, and medical supplies.

She also offered prayers for the victims and called for unity and compassion in this difficult time.

Call for Global Assistance

Turkiye’s First Lady appealed to the international community to increase their support. She emphasized that the wounds of the flood victims should be healed with humanity and kindness.

Flood Impact in Punjab

The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reports severe damage. Over 1,700 villages have been submerged, affecting more than 1.2 million people. Nearly 250,000 people have been displaced due to the floods.

Rescue teams continue to work in districts including Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Nankana Sahib, and Rajanpur. So far, 28 lives have been lost. Authorities also saved over 140,000 animals and relocated thousands to safer areas.

Ongoing Relief Efforts

Relief operations are ongoing with shelter and medical aid provided to displaced families. Officials assure that support will continue until all affected people are safe and rehabilitated.
