Türkiye has welcomed reports of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, calling it a critical opportunity for de-escalation and renewed diplomacy in the Middle East. In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Ankara expressed cautious optimism while warning against any violations of the fragile truce.
“We welcome reports indicating that a cease-fire has been agreed upon between Israel and Iran,” the ministry stated, adding, “At the same time, we are closely following statements suggesting that the cease-fire has been violated.”

Calling this a “critical period” for regional stability, Türkiye urged both nations to fully honor the agreement and take responsible steps to avoid reigniting hostilities. The ministry emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in preventing further conflict.
Türkiye also reiterated its long-standing position that the unresolved Palestinian issue lies at the heart of much of the region’s instability. “The process has shown once again that the Palestinian issue, which is at the root of many problems in the Middle East, must be resolved as soon as possible,” the statement read.
The Turkish government called for determined efforts toward a permanent solution and stressed that “keeping channels of dialogue and diplomacy open is of vital importance” for long-term peace.
