Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh on Investment and Public-Private Partnership, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, met with Turkiye’s Consul General Ergul Kadak and Commercial Attaché Murat Ozmen. The meeting took place at the Sindh Investment Department to discuss potential investment opportunities in the province.
During the meeting, Qamar provided detailed briefings on key projects, including Dhabeji and Khairpur Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Karachi Education City, and Marble City Karachi. He also highlighted investment possibilities in sectors such as education, agriculture, energy, IT, infrastructure, water recycling, environment, and industry.
The special assistant emphasized government initiatives like the Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company and various tax incentives for investors in SEZs. The Turkish officials showed keen interest in Karachi Education City, reflecting Turkiye’s growing focus on Sindh’s education and industrial projects.
Qamar also discussed the production of dates in Khairpur and highlighted the potential for investment in the date industry. He noted that the provincial government is committed to establishing a new SEZ in Hyderabad, attracting manufacturers of motorcycles and electric appliances to set up operations.
In addition, Secretary Investment Sindh Raja Khurram Shahzad briefed the Turkiye delegation on the province’s mineral reserves, available investment sectors, and ongoing development projects. The officials also discussed mechanisms to facilitate foreign investment and provide incentives for long-term growth.
The meeting signals strong interest from Turkiye in Sindh’s economic development. Both sides agreed to explore investment partnerships that could strengthen trade relations and enhance industrial growth in the province.
