Türkiye Strongly Condemns Indian Aggression Against Pakistan, Calls for Calm
Türkiye has strongly condemned India’s unprovoked aggression against Pakistan and expressed full solidarity with Pakistan, urging calm amid rising tensions in South Asia. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reached out to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday to express grave concern over the escalating security situation following Indian missile and artillery strikes on Pakistani territory.
A statement from Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office detailed the conversation between the two leaders, with Fidan reaffirming Türkiye’s firm support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said, “We are deeply concerned about the escalation and the tragic loss of innocent lives in Pakistan.” Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and emphasized the need for regional stability, urging restraint from all sides to prevent further escalation.

The Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan also held an emergency meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Dar to condemn the Indian strikes and offer condolences for the civilian casualties. During the meeting, the ambassador reaffirmed Türkiye’s unwavering support for Pakistan and called for international attention to the violation of Pakistan’s airspace and the resulting loss of life.
In response, Pakistan welcomed Türkiye’s message of support, reiterating its commitment to peace while asserting its right to respond to any aggression. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a formal statement urging both India and Pakistan to de-escalate tensions and prioritize peace in the region, calling for diplomatic dialogue to resolve the conflict.
China Deplores Indian Strikes, Urges Maximum Restraint
In parallel, China has expressed deep concern over the escalating hostilities between Pakistan and India, urging both countries to exercise calm and restraint. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs called India’s recent strikes against Pakistan “regrettable” and reiterated its longstanding position of favoring regional stability.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry emphasized that both countries should “exercise maximum restraint” and avoid any actions that could worsen the situation. “We are seriously concerned about the evolving situation in South Asia,” the spokesperson said. “We urge both Pakistan and India to refrain from taking steps that may aggravate the conflict.”
The Chinese statement also underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving disputes, advocating for peace to be given a chance first. This call for restraint comes amid heightened military activity along the Line of Control (LoC), particularly after Pakistan’s claim of shooting down multiple Indian Air Force jets, including Rafale and Sukhoi aircraft, in a “timely and proportionate response” to Indian airspace violations.
Both China and Türkiye have strongly appealed to India and Pakistan to de-escalate tensions and focus on diplomatic efforts to avoid further casualties and preserve regional peace.
