Trump Weighs Military Action in Israel-Iran Conflict, Decision Expected in Two Weeks

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to announce within the next two weeks whether the United States will engage militarily in the escalating Israel-Iran conflict, according to a statement from the White House.

Speaking to reporters, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump is currently assessing the potential for diplomatic engagement with Tehran before committing to any course of action. “Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks,” she quoted the president as saying.

The announcement follows weeks of intensifying hostilities between Israel and Iran, including reciprocal strikes that have raised alarm across the region. Leavitt confirmed that Trump is receiving regular intelligence briefings and is in constant contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Leavitt said, “Iran has never been closer to obtaining a nuclear weapon,” reinforcing the administration’s concerns over Tehran’s growing capabilities. Despite the threat, Trump is said to remain committed to diplomacy but has not ruled out the use of military force.
