Trump Sends Message to Netanyahu Urging Coordinated Iran Strategy

Trump Pushes for U.S.-Israel Unity on Iran Nuclear Talks, Warns Against Tehran’s Weaponization Capability

Jerusalem/Washington — U.S. President Donald Trump has urged closer coordination between the United States and Israel regarding ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed during a recent visit to Israel.

In an interview with Fox News following her Monday trip, Noem confirmed that she delivered a direct message from Trump to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasizing the need for both allies to maintain a united front as discussions with Tehran continue.

“President Trump specifically sent me to discuss how crucial it is for both nations to stay aligned and let the negotiation process unfold,” Noem said, calling the conversations with Netanyahu “candid and direct.”

This development comes amid rising tensions, as the U.S. and Iran concluded a fifth round of nuclear talks in Rome. While Trump struck an optimistic note about the progress, Israeli officials remain skeptical and are reportedly preparing for possible military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

“We’ve had very good talks with Iran,” Trump told reporters Sunday. “I may have something positive to share soon.”

Last week, CNN reported that Israel is drawing up contingency plans for potential action against Iran, citing increased concerns over Tehran’s uranium enrichment. In response, Iran has warned of a “forceful” retaliation against any aggression and accused Israel of trying to undermine U.S. diplomacy.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei reiterated Tehran’s commitment to “serious and purposeful” negotiations, rejecting any temporary suspension of enrichment in exchange for an interim deal. A key sticking point remains Iran’s insistence on its right to enrich uranium under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which the U.S. wants halted.

While Iran has denied pursuing nuclear weapons, Israel — believed to possess an undeclared nuclear arsenal — remains unconvinced. Netanyahu has long asserted that Iran is dangerously close to developing a bomb and continues to advocate for a tougher U.S. stance.

Acknowledging Israeli concerns, Noem stated: “President Trump wants peace but also firmly opposes a nuclear-armed Iran. He will not allow it to happen.” She added, “He also expects Prime Minister Netanyahu to be aligned with this vision.”

The Iran nuclear issue has resurfaced as a central point of tension in U.S.-Israel relations, especially following Trump’s 2018 withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The exit triggered the reimposition of heavy sanctions on Iran, prompting Tehran to exceed the deal’s nuclear limitations.

As diplomatic talks intensify, both Washington and Jerusalem are grappling with balancing deterrence and diplomacy in a region on edge
