The Trump administration has announced plans to request the release of grand jury testimony related to Jeffrey Epstein’s case. This move comes after the Justice Department said it found no evidence to support conspiracy theories about Epstein’s death in 2019.
Former U.S. President Trump criticized the widespread media coverage of Epstein’s case. On his social media platform, he called the situation a “scam” and accused Democrats of spreading false information. Trump asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to provide all relevant grand jury documents, subject to court approval.
Following Trump’s call, Attorney General Bondi confirmed on the platform X that the Justice Department is ready to ask the court to unseal the grand jury transcripts. She said the request would be made soon to increase transparency.
The Justice Department’s recent findings dismissed several conspiracy claims about Epstein and his connections. Some supporters of Trump had raised questions about the case, leading to division within his base. While some want more details, Trump referred to these theories as hoaxes.
Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, was first arrested in 2006 on allegations of sexually abusing minors. He was arrested again in 2019 on charges of sex trafficking but died in jail later that year. His death has been the subject of many conspiracy theories.
Attorney General Bondi had earlier promised to reveal important information about Epstein’s case, including flight logs and names linked to his network. The release of grand jury documents aims to address public concerns and provide clarity.
Trump’s push for transparency highlights the ongoing interest in the Epstein case. The Justice Department’s move to unseal the grand jury testimony may shed more light on this controversial matter.
