Trump Proposes Buying Gaza, Urges Gulf Nations to Rebuild War-Torn Region

Trump Proposes U.S. Control Over Gaza, Faces Global Backlash

WASHINGTON – Former U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked controversy with his proposal for the United States to take control of Gaza, urging Middle Eastern nations to assist in redeveloping the war-ravaged region.

During an interaction with reporters, Trump outlined his vision for rebuilding Gaza in the coming years, emphasizing that Hamas would not be allowed to return. He suggested that the U.S. would lead reconstruction efforts, inviting other Middle Eastern countries to participate.

Describing Gaza as a “demolition site,” he proposed a major redevelopment initiative and suggested that displaced Palestinians could be relocated to other nations. His remarks follow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent statement about transforming Gaza into a new entity.

Israel welcomed the proposal, calling it a creative and revolutionary vision that could bring so-called peace. However, several countries raised concerns, particularly over Trump’s suggestion to relocate Palestinians.

Hamas strongly condemned Trump’s remarks, calling them “absurd” and emphasizing that Gaza is not for sale or negotiation but an integral part of Palestinian territory.

Key Arab nations and regional leaders also rejected the plan, criticizing it as a major shift in U.S. foreign policy and a violation of Palestinian sovereignty. Critics accused Trump of treating a humanitarian crisis like a business deal rather than addressing the rights of the Palestinian people.

The proposal is expected to be a key discussion point in Trump’s upcoming meeting with Jordan’s King, where regional leaders will likely express their opposition. Meanwhile, Washington is using the plan to push for broader talks, urging other regional powers to propose their own solutions.

Despite strong international opposition, the Trump administration remains determined to proceed with its vision for Gaza.
