Trump May Step In As Mediator Amid Rising Kashmir Tensions US State Department

The United States has indicated that former President Donald Trump could play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute, as tensions between India and Pakistan escalate following the deadly Pahalgam attack in April.

At a weekly State Department briefing, spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated that Trump “has consistently shown” a willingness to engage in protracted global conflicts, suggesting Kashmir is within his diplomatic scope. “It shouldn’t surprise anyone that he would want to manage something like that,” she said.

The remarks come as Pakistan intensifies its diplomatic outreach, rejecting India’s allegations of involvement in the April 22 attack. A high-level Pakistani delegation, led by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, recently met with senior US officials, including Under Secretary Allison Hooker, to discuss regional peace and bilateral ties.

The delegation is also expected to visit London and Brussels as part of a broader campaign to present Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue on the international stage.
