Trump Expects Abraham Accords Expansion, Sets Sights On Saudi Arabia

Former U.S. President Trump expressed optimism about the expansion of the Abraham Accords and the possible inclusion of Saudi Arabia.

In a recent interview with Fox Business Network, Trump said, “I hope to see Saudi Arabia go in, and I hope to see others go in. I think when Saudi Arabia goes in, everybody goes in.” He noted having “some very good conversations” with countries interested in joining the accords.

Trump predicted that new signatories would join soon, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia’s participation could encourage other nations to follow. This would strengthen peace and diplomatic ties across the Middle East.

The Abraham Accords were first signed in 2020 during Trump’s first term. The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain were the initial Arab states to normalize relations with Israel. Morocco and Sudan joined later, marking a historic step in Arab-Israeli diplomacy.

During the interview, Trump also referenced his recent meetings in Egypt with Muslim and European leaders to discuss the Gaza situation. He suggested that resolving Gaza conflicts could act as a catalyst for wider regional peace and stability.

He further hinted at the possibility of a peace deal between Iran and Israel, saying, “Wouldn’t it be nice?” This reflects Trump’s continued vision for expanding the Abraham Accords and fostering broader cooperation in the region.

Analysts say that if Saudi Arabia joins the accords, it could encourage other Gulf countries and moderate Arab nations to engage in diplomatic relations with Israel. Experts also note that the expansion of these accords could strengthen U.S. influence in Middle East peace efforts.
