Trump Calls for Punitive Action Against CBS Over 60 Minutes Broadcast

Former US President Donald Trump has called for severe action against CBS and its parent company, Paramount, following a critical segment aired on the news program “60 Minutes.” Trump took to his Truth Social platform to accuse the show of acting as a “dishonest political operative” and demanded that the network face “maximum fines and punishment,” even suggesting the possible revocation of its broadcast license.

The controversial episode featured an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who refuted Trump’s claims that Ukraine was responsible for the ongoing war with Russia and dismissed the former president’s labeling of him as a “dictator.” Zelenskyy also expressed concern over the prevalence of Russian narratives in the US media.

Additionally, the episode covered Greenland, where locals criticized Trump’s past statements about acquiring the territory, with Greenlandic Inuit leader Aqqaluk Lynge condemning the remarks as “ugly” and noted by the people of Greenland.

Trump, who has previously sued CBS over a separate interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, claimed that the broadcast was part of a broader media campaign to politically damage him. The White House has not yet responded to inquiries on whether any formal action will be taken against CBS.
