The scheduled hearing of the Toshakhana-II case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi at Adiala Jail has been cancelled. The case, which has drawn significant public and political attention, revolves around allegations of misuse of state gifts.
According to court officials, the judicial staff of the Islamabad Special Central Judge’s court informed both the prosecution and defense lawyers that the hearing, which was due to take place tomorrow, will not proceed at Adiala Jail. Instead, it was stated that a new date for the hearing will be announced tomorrow, and it will be held at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad.
The trial has already made progress, with testimonies from 11 out of the 24 witnesses recorded so far. Cross-examinations of these witnesses have also been completed, signaling that the case is steadily moving forward despite occasional delays and changes in schedule.
Legal experts suggest that shifting the hearing venue back to the Judicial Complex could be due to administrative or security considerations. The cancellation has left both legal teams waiting for the court’s updated schedule as the high-profile case continues to unfold
