Top Telcos Jazz, Telenor, Zong, & Ufone fined by PTA

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Pakistan’s top cellular mobile operators (CMOs)  Jazz, Telenor, Zong and Ufone were fined Rs. 29 million by the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) for violating the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements outlined in their licences.

According to the licence requirements and QoS Regulations, the licensees have been instructed to increase the quality of services in order to reach the goal value of QoS parameters. If the licensees don’t comply, legal action will be taken against them in accordance with the law.

According to official sources, PTA recently carried out a survey utilising a smart benchmark quality of standard instrument in five cities, including Sialkot, D.I. Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Mardan, and Mastung.

According to the survey, the top networks  were determined to be non-compliant with regards to observing QoS criteria. The licensee was then given the results along with instructions to write a thorough report outlining the reasons for not complying with a few standards. PTA also urged the beginning of corrective actions to raise service quality.

According to the officials, Jazz was fined Rs. 7 million by PTA for failing to follow the QoS requirements in Sialkot, D.I. Khan, and Tando Allah Yar. The Authority fined Telenor Rs. 6 million for failing to observe QoS criteria in Mardan and Mastung, as well as Rs. 6 million for failing to do so in Sialkot, D.I. Khan, and Tando Allah Yar.

Ufone was fined Rs. 3 million and Rs. 2 million by the PTA for failing to comply with the QoS requirements in the cities of Sialkot, D.I. Khan, and Tando Allah Yar, respectively.

Moreover, Zong was fined Rs. 5 million by the Authority for failing to follow QoS guidelines in Mardan and Mastung.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
