Toothbrush Surgically Taken Out of Man’s Stomach in Punjab

A 55-year-old man from Rahim Yar Khan found himself in a shocking medical emergency after accidentally swallowing his toothbrush while brushing his teeth early in the morning. According to hospital sources, the incident occurred when the man was cleaning his tongue and unexpectedly yawned, causing the toothbrush to slip through his esophagus and into his stomach.

His family immediately took him to Shaikh Zayed Hospital, where doctors conducted an emergency endoscopy. Fortunately, the medical team was able to remove the toothbrush without the need for surgery. Hospital officials confirmed that the patient did not suffer any internal injuries and is now recovering in stable condition.

Doctors involved in the procedure said the man was extremely lucky that the brush did not damage any major organs. “Such incidents are rare but can be very dangerous if not treated immediately,” one of the doctors commented. They emphasized that delays in treatment could have caused severe complications, including intestinal perforation or infection.

Medical experts have since urged the public to exercise caution while brushing their teeth, especially during tongue cleaning. They advised against sudden movements like yawning or coughing, which could cause objects to be accidentally swallowed or lead to injury.

The unusual case quickly gained attention on social media, where many users expressed disbelief and curiosity about how such an accident could happen. While some reacted with humor, others took it as a reminder to be more careful with everyday routines that seem harmless but can pose unexpected risks.
