TikTok Deletes over 28 Million Pakistan Videos for Rule Violations

TikTok has taken down more than 28 million videos in Pakistan after finding they breached the platform’s community guidelines, according to its latest transparency report.

In its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the third quarter of the 2025–26 fiscal year (July to September), TikTok revealed that 28,198,284 videos were removed in Pakistan during this period. The report underlines the company’s ongoing efforts to create a safer and more positive digital space for users.

TikTok said most of the violative content was detected and removed proactively through automated systems. During the quarter, the platform achieved a 99.8% proactive removal rate in Pakistan, with nearly 96% of the videos taken down within 24 hours of being uploaded. While advanced technology carries out most removals, TikTok’s safety teams handle sensitive cases that require human judgment, including appeals, expert consultations, and fast-changing situations.

On a global level, TikTok removed around 204 million videos in the same quarter, which made up about 0.7% of all uploaded content. Of these, more than 186 million videos were automatically flagged and removed, while nearly 9 million were later restored after review. Worldwide, the proactive removal rate stood at 99.3%, with almost 95% of content taken down within a day.

The report also highlighted TikTok’s actions against fake and underage accounts. Globally, over 118 million fake accounts were removed, along with more than 22 million accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13.

In Pakistan, around 30% of the removed videos contained sensitive or adult content, while 15.7% violated safety and decency rules. Privacy and security breaches accounted for 2.7% of removals. The data further showed that 32.9% of the videos were linked to misinformation, and 34.4% involved manipulated or AI-generated media.
