Thunderstorms And Rain Expected In Lahore Until June 7th

As per the Meteorological Department, Lahore can expect continued thunderstorms and rainfall until June 7, offering significant relief to its residents from the recent heatwave. Monday night’s rainfall already alleviated the soaring temperatures, dropping from a scorching 40 degrees Celsius. The previous forecast had warned of temperatures possibly reaching 45 degrees Celsius.

The cooling effect of the rain is anticipated to persist, with further showers and thunderstorms forecasted in the upcoming days.

In contrast, hot weather conditions are predicted across the plains of the country, with temperatures expected to rise. However, some relief is expected in the evenings with anticipated rain in various regions.

In the Potohar region, upper Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, isolated evening showers may offer respite from the heat. Islamabad and its surroundings are likely to experience partly cloudy conditions, with possible rain later in the day.

The upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are forecasted to receive rain accompanied by thunder, bringing much-needed cooling. This prediction extends to the Rawalpindi Division, Galiyat, Gujrat, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad, where evening rain is also expected.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert to district and tehsil administrations regarding rain and thunderstorms until June 6. The PDMA director general, under the Chief Minister’s directives, has informed district administrations about anticipated rain and thunderstorms in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, and Jhang as well.
