The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its Men’s ODI Team of the Year for 2024, featuring three Pakistani players. The lineup includes opener Saim Ayub, pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, and all-rounder Haris Rauf.
The squad also highlights strong representation from Sri Lanka, with Charith Asalanka named captain. Other Sri Lankan players in the team are wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis, batsman Pathum Nissanka, and spinner Wanindu Hasaranga.

Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Azmat Omarzai, and A.M. Ghaznifar have also earned spots in the playing XI. Notably, no players from India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, or Bangladesh were selected, prompting discussions about the selection process.
