Three Katcha Dacoits Killed as Drone Attacks Destroy Hideouts in Rojhan Operation

Security forces have intensified their crackdown against criminal gangs operating in the Katcha area of Rojhan, resulting in the killing of three dacoits during targeted drone attacks. The operation was launched to dismantle entrenched outlaw networks that have long posed serious threats to public safety, law enforcement personnel, and regional stability in the riverine belt.

According to official sources, drones were used to strike multiple hideouts concealed within dense forests and difficult riverine terrain. These hideouts were reportedly being used by dacoits for planning kidnappings, storing weapons, and evading security forces. The aerial strikes successfully destroyed several bunkers, significantly weakening the gangs’ operational capacity.

Police officials said the Katcha area has historically been challenging due to its geography, allowing criminals to exploit natural cover. The use of drone technology has provided a major tactical advantage, enabling precise targeting without exposing law enforcement personnel to unnecessary risk during direct ground assaults.

During the operation, heavy exchanges of fire were reported before the drone strikes neutralised key positions. Three dacoits were confirmed killed, while several others are believed to have fled the area. Authorities said the operation disrupted communication and supply routes used by criminal elements in the region.

Punjab Police stated that the Rojhan operation is part of a broader strategy to restore lasting peace in Katcha areas across southern Punjab. Coordination between ground units, intelligence agencies, and aerial surveillance teams has been strengthened to ensure sustained pressure on outlaw groups.

Officials reaffirmed that operations will continue until all criminal hideouts are eliminated and residents can live without fear. Local communities have welcomed the action, expressing hope that consistent enforcement will finally end years of insecurity caused by armed dacoit gangs.
