Thousands Protest in Sweden, France, and Germany Over Gaza Crisis, Demand Global Action
On Saturday, thousands of people rallied across major European cities—Stockholm, Paris, and Berlin—protesting their governments’ silence on Israel’s ongoing military offensive in Gaza and the humanitarian blockade affecting the besieged territory.
Sweden:
In Stockholm, hundreds gathered at Odenplan Square before marching to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Organized by civil society groups, the protest condemned Israeli actions as “war crimes.” Activist Lars Ohly called for immediate government intervention, citing over 50,000 civilian deaths, including 15,000 children, describing the situation as “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing.”

France:
Protesters at Bourse Square in Paris demanded unrestricted humanitarian aid and sanctions on Israel. The rally included symbolic banging of empty pots to highlight Gaza’s food crisis, with chants accusing President Macron of complicity. Demonstrators stressed the urgency of ending what they called the “genocide” and criticized the French government for blocking aid.
Germany:
Around 1,000 people gathered at Oranienplatz in Berlin, including Jewish voices expressing solidarity with Palestinians. Slogans like “Freedom for Palestine” and “Stop the genocide” echoed through the crowd. Speakers called on the German government to reconsider its policies and condemned oppression and annihilation of any people.
Unified Call for Action:
Across all three capitals, protesters urged the international community to hold Israel accountable by imposing sanctions and ensuring continuous humanitarian access to Gaza amid a worsening humanitarian crisis marked by massive displacement and shortages of essentials.
