These Major Islamabad Road To Be Closed Today

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have issued a traffic advisory for February 3, 2026, warning residents of possible congestion and advising commuters to use alternate routes in the federal capital. The advisory aims to help motorists avoid delays during peak traffic hours.

According to an ITP spokesperson, authorities will implement traffic diversions at multiple points on the Expressway, Murree Road, and Club Road between 5 pm and 6 pm. These diversions are expected to increase traffic pressure on the Islamabad Expressway and Faisal Avenue during the specified time.

Commuters traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad have been advised to use Rawal Road, Ninth Avenue, Faqir Aipee Road, and Srinagar Highway. Motorists heading from Islamabad to Rawalpindi are directed to travel via Zero Point and Srinagar Highway before merging onto Ninth Avenue to ease congestion.

For those commuting between Murree or Barakahu and Islamabad, the traffic police recommended using Korang Road, Bani Gala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road. Travelers going from Serena or Barakahu to Rawalpindi have been advised to use Park Road, Lehtrar Road, and Khanna Pul.

The spokesperson also informed citizens that real-time traffic updates and guidance can be obtained through the Traffic Helpline at 1915 or the emergency service Pucar 15. Authorities urged commuters to plan their routes in advance and follow traffic personnel instructions to avoid delays.

These measures have been implemented to ensure smooth flow of traffic and prevent unnecessary congestion in key areas of the capital during peak hours. Citizens were urged to remain patient and follow alternate routes as advised.
