Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Announces Cash Rewards for Reporting Tax Fraud
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is set to introduce a new incentive program aimed at encouraging citizens to report tax fraud in the province. The initiative will offer cash rewards to individuals who identify or report tax evasion while maintaining their confidentiality.

- Confidential Reporting: Individuals who provide information about tax fraud will be able to do so anonymously. This system is designed to protect whistleblowers while enhancing efforts to combat tax evasion.
- Legal Framework: Regulations supporting this reward system are currently being finalized and will soon be implemented. This move is part of the KP government’s broader strategy to leverage citizen involvement in curbing tax fraud.

- Advisor to the Chief Minister: Muzammil Aslam, Advisor to the Chief Minister of KP for Finance, announced the reward system during a visit to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) headquarters. He highlighted that strict measures will be enforced against those found guilty of tax fraud based on citizen reports and assured that the cash reward amount will be announced shortly.
- Revenue Targets and Performance: Director General of KPRA, Fouzia Iqbal, reported on the revenue collection for the first two months of the fiscal year 2024-25. KPRA has a revenue target of Rs. 47 billion for the year, a 34 percent increase from the previous year’s target of Rs. 35 billion. The authority collected Rs. 7.17 billion in the first two months, showing a 45 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The new reward system aims to bolster tax fraud reporting by incentivizing public participation, while the KPRA continues to focus on meeting ambitious revenue targets. Advisor Muzammil Aslam praised the KPRA team’s performance and emphasized the importance of achieving this year’s revenue goals.
