Data provided by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) show that the cost of gold (24 carats) has fallen by Rs. 100 per tola to Rs. 218 700 and by Rs. 86 per gramme to Rs. 187 500.

On Wednesday, the cost of gold (24 carats) soared to a brand-new record high of Rs. 218,650 per tola. The high price on Thursday, when it reached a new record high, caused the record to only endure 24 hours before it was surpassed by Rs. 218,800 per tola. Gold (24 carats) was less expensive per tola at the beginning of the current calendar year than Rs. 190,000.

Spot gold was down 0.3 percent at $1,982.65 per ounce by 1350 GMT, and US gold futures were down 0.4 percent at $1,991.30 on the global market.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
