Terrorists Using Drones in KP, Confirms IG Zulfiqar Hameed

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, has confirmed that terrorists are increasingly using drones for sabotage activities in the province, particularly targeting the merged tribal areas and southern districts. The revelation has sparked serious concerns over regional security and the evolving tactics of militant groups.

Speaking to the media, IG Hameed stated that the presence and use of drones by terrorists in these regions has been verified. He warned that as drone technology becomes more accessible globally, the likelihood of its expanded use by hostile elements in Pakistan also rises.

“The threat of growing drone use by terrorists cannot be ignored. For effective surveillance and timely action, the police require drones in all districts,” the IG remarked. He further stressed the need for night-vision-capable drones to ensure round-the-clock monitoring in vulnerable areas.

IG Hameed noted that efforts are already underway to equip the police with drones, aiming to bridge the current technological gap and strengthen law enforcement’s response capabilities.
